High-Volume Data Entry Forms

Forms in the back office are not marketing capture tools; they are primary workstations.

Keyboard Dominance

A user should be able to complete a 50-field form without touching the mouse. Tab order must be strictly logical, and complex inputs (like custom comboboxes) must fully support keyboard events.

Label Placement

Top-aligned labels are faster to scan, but for very long forms, left-aligned labels can save vertical space and create a strong scan line. Choose one and apply it ruthlessly.

See Density for layout guidelines.
